Why do we love alpacas? Let us count the ways!

This beautiful reminder calls us to care for every creature we share the planet with. And alpacas—gentle, intelligent, and endlessly charming—make that responsibility a delight. With their soulful eyes, playful curiosity, and cloud-soft fleece, they teach us daily about connection, compassion, and joy.

We’re lucky to share our lives with eight of these wonderful beings. Four joined us in 2022 after their original owner couldn’t bring them along on a cross-country move. Then, in early 2025, Robin’s Nest led its largest rehoming effort yet—welcoming 20 senior alpacas from Central California. Four of those beloved seniors now call Robin’s Nest their forever home.
